Get Paid To Donate Plasma

Get Paid To Donate Plasma

Donating plasma for money is usually associated with college students but the fact is that donating plasma is a great way to earn some extra cash. It’s easy to do. It doesn’t require any special skills. And the best part is that donating plasma pays quite well. At $25-$50 per donation that extra cash can add up quickly.

Why Donate Plasma For Money?

There are all sorts of reasons why you’d want to sell your plasma.

  • Make ends meet
  • Pay off credit card debt
  • Cover an unexpected expense
  • Help avoid more student loans

Donating plasma isn’t the only way to earn some extra cash but it’s a great option to consider. Unless you’re deathly afraid of needles, there isn’t a big downside to donating. But there are a few things that you should know before you rush out to donate.

Rules For Donating Plasma:

  • Plasma donors must be above the age of 18
  • Plasma donors must have a permanent address and valid ID
  • Tattoos or body piercings must have been done at least 12 months ago
  • A pre-screen physical examination and medical testing must be completed
  • A health questionnaire must be completed to rule out individuals who engage in high-risk behavior or live an unhealthy lifestyle
  • Plasma donors must test negative for transmissible diseases such as hepatitis and HIV

Tips for Donating Plasma:

  • The first donation will take a bit longer to do the pre-screening and testing. Plan for 2-3 hours for the first time
  • All subsequent donations will take anywhere between 30-90 min depending on wait times and how fast you’re able to supply plasma
  • To drastically reduce your wait time make an appointment, if possible (this is strongly advised!)
  • Bring something to do, donations can take 30-90 min
  • Bring ID if you’re a first time donor. Typically you need:
    • Divers license
    • Social security card
    • Proof of residency (bill or bank statement)

How Often Can You Donate Plasma:

  • Once every two days
  • Maximum of twice per week
  • Over a year you can donate a maximum of 104 times

Side Effects Of Donating Plasma:

If you want to go donate plasma (paid or not) it’s recommended that you drink 16-24 ounces of non-caffeined and non-alcoholic liquid before donating. It’s also recommended that you donate plasma within 3-4 hours of your last meal. Doing these two things should minimize the possibility of side effects however you still may experience:

  • Dizziness
  • Fainting
  • Nausea
  • Convulsions/shock
  • Bruising

If you have any concerns about the possible side effects you can call your local donation center and speak with a medical professional for more details.

How Much Can You Get Paid To Donate Plasma:

  • First donations typically receive $25
  • Subsequent donations receive $30
  • Exactly how much you get paid to donate plasma will vary by location, some pay as much as $50/visit
  • Donate the max 104 times per year and you could get paid up to $2,600-$5,200

Where To Donate:

Over the last few months I’ve put together a huge resource for my readers at This resource has over 400+ donation centres across the country and I update it regularly with new locations. It’s grouped by State/City so it’s very easy to find a donation centre near you.
