The month of November was huge for many reasons. Reason one is that my total side income was $1,681 for the month. This is well ahead of last year when I started to do income updates.
The other reason November was huge is because my wife and I sold our house!
It was on the market for less than a week and we ended up getting an offer very close to our asking price. As you may recall from my previous post we’ve decided to move closer to family and friends. Our new home is a tad bit smaller than our current house and it’s in a lower cost of living city. All in all we should be able to free up $500-$1,000 from our monthly budget.
In addition to all this I’m still taking my college courses in financial planning. Going back to school in your 30’s seems pretty crazy but its been a great experience so far. I’m only taking courses one night per week so its not a huge time commitment. It’s been almost 2 years now and there is just one more class left and then I’ll have a certificate in financial planning.
In the last 6 weeks there have been two mid-term exams in my retirement course. So add that on top of buying and selling a house and you can understand why I’ve been going a bit nuts. The amazing thing is that both exams came back with marks of 100%! Seems I work best under pressure.
Its easy to start a blog. Check out the start a blog page. This guide will show you how to start a blog in just minutes using Host Gator, BlueHost or GoDaddy. I use BlueHost personally. Crowdsource a great logo. For only a little bit of cash get a great logo from sites like DesignCrowd.
My Previous Income Updates:
You can check out all of my past income updates by clicking the tracker in the sidebar. My goal is to reach $3,000/month in side income. By clicking each month/amount it will take you to the income update for that month with all the financial details.
My November Update: $1,681
Now I have two websites producing income for me. The second site made $32.54 this month which may not seem like a lot but even that adds up to over $380/year. This site has also been growing quickly despite not giving it much attention.
This site is my main site and it produces the majority of my side income. Income comes from affiliates, adsense and media.net advertising.
- Sessions: 11,096
- Pageviews: 24,897
- Pages/Session: 2.2
- Bounce Rate: 57%
Swagbucks also came through this month with $108 in total. This is mostly going towards Christmas gifts. You can use your Swagbucks to purchase Amazon gift cards. These came in handy during the BlackFriday promotions and I was able to get most of my Christmas shopping done for FREE!

Once I complete my financial planning certificate I’d like to look at starting a financial planning business from home. This is a definite plan yet but as I near the end of my courses it seems like a great opportunity.
My next step is to complete my last course and write the CFP exam.
Making Money From Home:
November was great again. All this extra side income has been a huge benefit for me and my family. It’s taken a lot of pressure off of our finances and has allowed us to make choices that we may not have otherwise been able to make.
If you have an interest in starting a website to earn some side income feel free to shoot me an email at Thomas [at] ineedmoneyasap [dot] com. It’s intimidating at first but it’s actually quite easy to setup your very own site.
